  • Cool Fuel Road Trip - Val found a new show she'll be watching called the Coolfuel Roadtrip
  • Dori and Val on the Amazing Race? That would be funny!

The interview! Melissa Schweisguth, Change-Maker at Dagoba Chocolate. This is a great interview. It's worth a listen or two!

Listener Emails:

  • Shayna - Organic Foods - worth the money? from Consumer Reports. Read the Article here.
  • Karen - Find Vetiver at greenfeet.com.
  • Kelly - Let's just say she had a different definition of the word ding dong thank a choco covered snack cake.
  • Theresa - Thought listener's or maybe just Val (for her dog's food) might be interested. I'm sure there are other natural foods out there - this is just one that is very readily available. Newman's Own Organics and this link for great kitty litter.
  • Howard - Magazines offered electronically - check to see if you favorites are available.
  • Alex - Great show...fun with the environment - who knew? I've taken your series on Green Building, and the Home Energy Audit, and replayed them on Radio Ecoshock, the planet's only full time environmental radio station. We're non-profit, no commercials, just play the best interviews, news, podcasts, and music about the blue Planet, 24/7. Check it out at www.ecoshock.org
  • Adam from the Yippie Show - So here I am looking for information about detoxing, green drinks and all that fun stuff, when I see a page that made me think "Dori & Val." No, normally I don't normally associate colon cleansing with super hot podcast babes, but I think you may enjoy this page.
Here is is a source for cacao nibs. The page has some good information about cacao. However, I am sure it isn't as enjoyable as your organic chocolate in bars.
  • Katie - Hi Chiquitas! (is that what you call female residents of Chico?) I last wrote back in October and was thrilled to hear my email read "on air".I've taken up your challenge to make it my resolution to stop collecting plastic bags, but I'm now faced with a dilemma: what do I do with my garbage? as Prabjit's email mentioned in a previous show, I use plastic bags to line my garbage cans, what is the green solution here?I recycle as much as I can and as I rent a small apartment establishing a compost heap would not amuse my landlord. - Check out Biobags on greenfeet.com.
As for Val's waxing, sister, I feel your pain. I used the Parissa wax last month. While my pasty white Canadian legs are now silky smooth, I'm still cleaning wax off my counter. (What are your feelings on the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser). I find myself "pumping myself up" before yanking the strip... trying to focus on "no pain, no gain". My only words of wisdom through this whole process, be sure to dedicate enough time to do BOTH legs as the same time. My boyfriend laughed when I had to confess that I got tired and my knees got sore so I only did half the job, I have to admit, it looked really stupid under nylons.
  • Tara - Just found you... soul mates, I tell you! Anyway, I wanted you to know that I can't stop obsessing about when I'll get to catch up on your shows... Long way to work? Sure! You need me to carpool? Absolutely! Road trip? All the way! Gave you a well deserved shout out on my blog enlightenme.blog.com - come visit me! I am also recycling the CDs I make of the podcasts and giving them to people I know will enjoy it as much as I do... Thanks for what your doing!
  • Siera-Ana - Hi there Ladies!
I am an avid listener and was curious about when it is okay to use the anti-bacterial soaps and such...I don't want to gross you out, but here's the problem; I'm sure that a lot of other ladies has this problem too but won't admit it, so I am! I went to see the good old OB/GYN doctor and she said that the skin on my under arm (pits) is in severe need of an anti-bacterial soap, but whenever I use it, I seem to break out more! with or without shaving!!! I have major pimples under there no matter what I do or do not do or use! The only thing that seems to semi-solves the problem is using my Dove anti-perspiring deoderant until that too starts making me ITCH like MAD! There isn't anything else out there that takes care of the "problem"...I haven't tried the rock deoderant yet...I kind of freaks me out! Val says Rob uses - the rock deodorant. Also use an antibacterial deodorant from V'tae.
  • Tiffany - Always choose reusable bags - when in a pinch paper is better.
  • Amanda - My husband and I found out recently that our Boston Terrier has hip and knee problems with both hind legs and will have to have surgery in the coming months. To help cover the cost we have started a benefit auction on e bay that lists some of the photographs he (yes the dog is a photographer like his parents ) has made. Thought you would get a kick out of seeing it. Click here.
