Listener Emails

Once again, we have a bunch of great listener emails. Keep 'em rolling in at hip@greenfeet.com. And don't forget to post articles, links, and speak your mind at our MHTH forum!

  • A Hipster visit! On June 26, Dori and Val got a special surprise when Hipster Cindy stopped by Greenfeet.com's office for a visit while making the drive to Seattle. As you can see in the picture above, a fun time was had by all!
  • Get Joost! Jayce loves Joost so much, he wanted everyone to know about it. Joost is program you can download for free that lets you watch TV on your PC. It's got a lot of environmental programing.
  • Solar oven reviews. Jess hasn't cooked with a solar oven before, but found a review by Cook's Illustrated very interesting.
  • Buyer beware. Shayna wanted everyone to know the Whole Truth about Whole Foods. It's a great article about some key issues shoppers should keep in mind while cruising the aisles at Whole Foods.
  • Alternative grains. Katherine suggests doing a show on alternative grains like amaranth.
  • One busy girl! Celeste was looking for some good fundraising ideas for the Nike Women's Marathon raising money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. If you'd like to donate money or join the marathon, check out the Team in Training website.
  • Summer of service. New listener Daryan was looking for some good service projects to take on during the summer. Val recommends The Kid's Guide to Service Projects, a great book with over 500 ideas for service projects.
  • New use for 'shrooms. Ed passed along an interesting article about a new process that uses mushrooms as insulation material.
