• Empowering youth. Roots and Shoots is a sustainability program for school kids that empowers the children to make sustainable changes in their communities.

• Rockefeller Center tree goes green. Energy saving lights will be used on the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree this year. The tree will also be getting some of its power from solar panels installed atop Rockefeller Center.

This week's Teenie Weenie Greenie™ is to take a Holiday Survival Kit with you for holiday shopping. Things to include: at least 2-3 reusable shopping bags, a box or crate to transfer purchases from the bags in the car, a reusable water bottle, and a reusable coffee mug.
